Redefining What It Means to Be a Pallet Company
At Fresno Pallets, we believe every piece of wood has value. Our mission is to extend the life of every pallet that passes through our yard, diverting waste from landfills and delivering affordable, high-quality solutions to businesses across Central California. We are not just a pallet company — we are an environmental partner committed to building a circular economy for wood packaging.
Our Vision
To become the most trusted and sustainable pallet provider in California by 2030 — setting the industry standard for environmental stewardship, operational excellence, and community impact. We envision a future where no usable pallet ever reaches a landfill, where every business in the Central Valley has access to affordable recycled wood packaging, and where our industry leads the way in the transition to a fully circular economy.
Our Purpose
Every year, approximately 700 million pallets are manufactured in the United States, consuming over 4.5 billion board feet of lumber. At the same time, millions of usable pallets end up in landfills simply because there is no efficient system to recover and redistribute them. We exist to close that gap. By collecting, repairing, and redistributing pallets locally, we reduce the demand for virgin timber, lower carbon emissions from manufacturing, and keep wood waste out of landfills — all while saving our customers money.
Our Impact in Numbers
A decade of sustainable growth, measured not just in pallets processed but in trees saved, waste diverted, and communities served.
A Decade of Sustainable Growth
From three employees and a single truck in 2015 to a 45-person operation serving 500+ businesses — here is how we built Central California's most trusted pallet company.
Humble Beginnings
Founded by Marcus Rivera in Fresno's industrial district with a simple mission: give every pallet a second life. Started with a 5,000 sq ft yard, a crew of three, and a single flatbed truck. Processed our first 10,000 pallets within six months.
First Major Client
Secured our first large-scale contract with a Central Valley agricultural distributor handling over 200,000 pallets annually, proving that recycled pallets could meet the highest industry standards. Revenue doubled in a single quarter.
NWPCA Membership & ISPM-15 Certification
Became a proud member of the National Wooden Pallet & Container Association (NWPCA). Achieved ISPM-15 heat treatment certification, opening the door to international shipping clients across the Pacific Rim and Latin America.
Expanded to 25,000 Sq Ft
Doubled our yard space to 25,000 sq ft and invested $350,000 in state-of-the-art repair equipment including automated nail guns, band saws, and a dedicated heat treatment chamber. Added our first dedicated delivery routes to Visalia, Bakersfield, and Merced.
100th Client Milestone
Reached 100 active business accounts across Central California. Launched our pallet buyback program, offering fair prices for surplus pallets from warehouses, farms, and retailers. Hired our 15th full-time employee.
Zero-Waste Commitment
Launched our zero-waste initiative, ensuring 100% of pallet materials are either reused, recycled, or repurposed. Invested in industrial wood chipping equipment to convert unsalvageable wood into mulch, animal bedding, and biomass fuel. Nothing goes to landfill.
California Green Business Certified
Earned the California Green Business certification from the state. Implemented comprehensive water conservation measures, LED lighting across all facilities, and began tracking our carbon footprint with third-party auditors.
Fleet & Delivery Expansion
Built out a dedicated logistics fleet of 12 trucks to offer same-day and next-day delivery across the entire Central California region. Introduced GPS tracking for all deliveries and a real-time notification system for customers.
50,000 Sq Ft Facility Completed
Completed our major facility expansion to 50,000 sq ft at 4691 E Commerce Ave — our current headquarters. The new facility features a dedicated repair bay, covered storage for 30,000+ pallets, an automated sorting line, and a modern office wing.
Industry Leader
Recognized as one of the top sustainable pallet providers in Central California. Surpassed 500 active business accounts. Processed our two-millionth pallet. Named finalist for the Fresno Chamber of Commerce Green Business Award.
Solar & Electric Fleet Initiative
Began installation of a 200kW rooftop solar array expected to offset 85% of facility electricity. Placed orders for our first two electric delivery trucks. Launched community education program on wood recycling in partnership with Fresno Unified School District.
50,000 Sq Ft of Purpose-Built Operations

Our Core Values

Sustainability First
Every decision we make starts with the planet. We believe profitability and environmental responsibility go hand in hand. Our zero-waste operations divert 100% of materials from landfills, turning would-be waste into valuable resources.
Quality Without Compromise
Recycled does not mean low quality. Every pallet we sell passes a rigorous 12-point inspection covering structural integrity, board condition, nail placement, moisture content, and dimensional accuracy before it leaves our yard.
Community Impact
We are proud to be a Fresno business. We create local jobs, support local vendors, and invest back into the community we serve. From sponsoring youth sports teams to donating mulch to community gardens, we show up for Fresno.
Transparent Partnerships
We build long-term relationships through honest pricing, clear communication, and reliable service. No hidden fees, no surprises. Every quote is itemized and every delivery is tracked and confirmed.

Built on Servant Leadership
Our founder Marcus Rivera built Fresno Pallets on a simple leadership principle: the leader serves the team, not the other way around. This philosophy permeates every level of our organization. Managers work alongside yard crews during peak periods. Leadership maintains an open-door policy for every employee. And every decision is evaluated not just for its business impact, but for its effect on our people.
We believe the best ideas come from the people doing the work. Our weekly all-hands meetings give every team member a voice in how we operate, improve, and grow. Some of our most impactful innovations — including our automated sorting process and our mulch donation program — were suggested by frontline employees.
This approach has earned us an employee retention rate of 91%, well above the industry average of 65% for warehouse and logistics operations. When people feel valued, they stay — and when they stay, they build institutional knowledge that makes our entire operation stronger.

Daily Safety Huddles
Every shift begins with a 10-minute safety briefing covering the day's tasks, potential hazards, weather conditions, and equipment status. Safety is never an afterthought.
Monthly Team BBQs
On the last Friday of every month, we fire up the grill and bring the entire team together. It is a chance to celebrate wins, recognize hard workers, and just enjoy being part of something good.
Quarterly Skill-Building Workshops
From forklift certifications to first aid training to business communication courses, we invest in our people's professional development with hands-on workshops every quarter.

Our "Pallet Pro of the Month" program recognizes outstanding contributions with a bonus, a prime parking spot, and public recognition at our all-hands meeting. Peer nominations ensure fairness.
Open-Door Management
Any employee can walk into any manager's office at any time with ideas, concerns, or feedback. We do not believe in hierarchy for hierarchy's sake — we believe in listening.

Automated Sorting & AI Grading
Invest $500,000 in computer vision technology for automated pallet grading. Machine learning algorithms will assess pallet condition in seconds, increasing throughput by 60% and ensuring even more consistent quality standards.
Zero-Waste Certification & Carbon Neutral Goal
Pursue formal TRUE (Total Resource Use and Efficiency) Zero Waste certification. Achieve full carbon neutrality across all operations including transportation through a combination of fleet electrification, solar power, and verified carbon offsets.
