Our Impact

The Numbers Speak for Themselves

Every pallet we recycle creates a ripple effect of environmental benefits. Here is what our work adds up to each year.

15,000+

Trees Saved Annually

By recycling and repairing pallets instead of manufacturing new ones from virgin timber. Each recycled pallet saves approximately 3.5 board feet of lumber — the equivalent of a small tree.

2M+

Pallets Diverted from Landfill

Since our founding in 2015, we have kept over two million pallets out of California landfills. Each 48x40 pallet weighs 33-48 lbs — that is over 40,000 tons of wood saved from decomposition.

3,200

Tons of CO2 Reduced Annually

Manufacturing a new pallet produces approximately 31 kg of CO2. By recycling instead, our operations eliminate over 3,200 metric tons of carbon emissions each year — equivalent to taking 700 cars off the road.

500K+

Gallons of Water Saved Annually

Producing new lumber is extremely water-intensive — up to 5.4 gallons per board foot. Our recycling operations conserve over half a million gallons of water annually that would otherwise be used in timber processing.

In Perspective

What Our Impact Really Means

15,000
Trees Saved

Equivalent to preserving 75 acres of Pacific Northwest forest from harvest each year.

3,200
Metric Tons CO2 Reduced

Equal to the carbon absorbed by 148,000 mature trees in a single year.

700
Cars Off the Road

Our annual CO2 reduction equals removing 700 average passenger vehicles from California roads.

385
Homes Powered

The energy saved through our recycling operations could power 385 average American homes for a year.

Year Over Year

Landfill Diversion Trending Upward

Our landfill diversion rate has climbed steadily from 91% in 2018 to a perfect 100% in 2024. Here is our year-by-year progress toward zero waste.

Where It All Goes

100% Material Utilization

Every piece of material that enters our facility exits as a useful product. Here is exactly how we achieve zero waste — broken down by material stream.

62%

Repaired & Resold Pallets

Structurally sound pallets are inspected, cleaned, repaired as needed, and resold for continued use. This is the highest-value use of recovered pallets.

18%

Dismantled Board Recovery

Good boards from otherwise unsalvageable pallets are recovered and used as replacement parts in our repair operations, reducing the need for any new lumber.

10%

Wood Chip Mulch

Clean wood chips are produced from non-reusable wood and distributed to community gardens, landscaping companies, and agricultural operations across the Valley.

5%

Animal Bedding

Softwood shavings are processed and packaged for equestrian centers, livestock operations, and pet product manufacturers in the Central Valley region.

3%

Biomass Fuel Feedstock

Remaining wood material is chipped and sold to biomass energy facilities, where it generates clean electricity — far better than landfill decomposition.

2%

Metal Recycling

Nails, staples, and metal fasteners are separated magnetically and sent to metal recycling facilities. In 2024, we recycled over 12 tons of metal fasteners.

Carbon Accounting

Our Carbon Footprint in Detail

We track our carbon impact across every category — from the manufacturing emissions we prevent to the operational emissions we produce. The result: a net negative carbon footprint of over 3,100 metric tons annually.

2,480 tons CO2/year

New Pallet Manufacturing Avoided

Each new 48x40 pallet produces approximately 31 kg of CO2 in manufacturing. By recycling 520,000+ pallets annually, we avoid this production entirely.

340 tons CO2/year

Transportation Emissions Saved

Local sourcing and delivery eliminates long-distance transportation of new pallets. Our average delivery distance is 38 miles vs. 300+ miles for new pallet imports.

280 tons CO2e/year

Landfill Methane Prevention

Wood decomposing in landfills produces methane, a greenhouse gas 28x more potent than CO2. Diverting pallets prevents significant methane generation.

-98 tons CO2/year

Our Operational Footprint

Our facility, equipment, and fleet produce approximately 98 tons of CO2 annually. Our net carbon impact is overwhelmingly positive: -3,102 tons CO2 equivalent.

-3,102
Net Tons CO2 Equivalent Annually

Our recycling operations remove over 3,100 metric tons more CO2 from the system than we produce. We are not just carbon neutral — we are deeply carbon negative.

Water Conservation

Over 500,000 Gallons Saved Annually

In California's drought-prone Central Valley, water conservation is especially critical. Here is how our recycling operations save over half a million gallons per year.

425,000gal

Lumber Production Avoided

Processing timber into pallet-grade lumber requires significant water for milling, treatment, and kiln-drying operations.

55,000gal

Forestry Irrigation Saved

Managed timber forests require water resources for seedling establishment and fire suppression that our recycling operations do not demand.

22,000gal

On-Site Water Conservation

Low-flow fixtures, rainwater collection for dust suppression, and elimination of water-intensive cleaning processes reduce our direct water usage.

How It Works

Our Recycling Process

Every pallet follows a carefully designed journey through our facility, maximizing the value extracted from every piece of wood and every metal fastener.

01

Collection

We pick up used pallets from your facility or accept drop-offs. In 2024, we collected from 500+ locations across Central California.

02

Inspection

Every pallet is graded using our 12-point quality system. Automated sorting separates by size, condition, and material type at 200 pallets/hour.

03

Repair

Damaged but salvageable pallets are repaired by our skilled technicians. We replace boards, stringers, and fasteners to restore full structural integrity.

04

Processing

Unsalvageable pallets are dismantled. Good boards are recovered for repairs. Remaining wood is chipped for mulch, bedding, or biomass fuel. Metal is recycled.

05

Redistribution

Quality-certified pallets are delivered to businesses, completing the circular economy cycle. Our fleet delivers 1,000+ pallets daily across the Valley.

What We Practice

Sustainability in Action

From our yard operations to our delivery routes, every aspect of our business is designed to minimize environmental impact and maximize resource recovery.

Full-Cycle Recycling

Every pallet that enters our yard is assessed for reuse potential. Structurally sound pallets are cleaned and resold. Damaged pallets are dismantled and rebuilt. Boards too damaged for pallet use become mulch or biomass fuel. Nothing is wasted — we achieve a 100% material utilization rate.

Zero-Waste Operations

Since 2024, our landfill diversion rate has reached 100%. Wood chips and sawdust become mulch, animal bedding, and biomass fuel. Metal fasteners are separated magnetically and recycled. Even our office waste is sorted and recycled. We track every pound of material through our facility.

Carbon Footprint Reduction

Our localized operations minimize transportation emissions with an average delivery radius of just 38 miles. Our net carbon impact is -3,102 tons CO2 equivalent annually — meaning we remove far more carbon from the system than we produce.

Responsible Sourcing

When new lumber is needed for repairs or custom builds, we source exclusively from sustainably managed forests with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) certified chain-of-custody documentation. In 2024, only 8% of our lumber came from new sources — the rest was recovered from damaged pallets.

Energy-Efficient Facilities

Our facility features 100% LED lighting, energy-efficient HVAC systems, and variable-frequency drive motors on all major equipment. We have reduced per-unit energy consumption by 28% since 2020. In 2025, we are installing a 200kW rooftop solar array expected to offset 85% of our electricity needs.

Community Education

We actively educate our clients and community about the benefits of pallet recycling. Our programs include quarterly facility tours for school groups, an annual "Green Supply Chain" workshop for local businesses, and partnerships with Fresno State and Fresno Unified to integrate circular economy principles into educational curricula.

Stormwater Management

Our facility features a comprehensive stormwater management system including bioswales, permeable paving in select areas, and containment systems that prevent wood debris and sediment from entering local waterways. We exceed all Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board requirements.

Dust & Air Quality Control

Wood processing generates airborne particles. Our facility is equipped with industrial dust extraction systems at every cutting station, enclosed chipping operations, and water mist dust suppression in the yard. We monitor air quality continuously and exceed San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District standards.
