How Pallet Removal Works

Our 7-step removal process is designed to be thorough, professional, and hassle-free. We handle everything from assessment to cleanup.

Step 01

Contact Us

Email us at info@fresnopallets.com or fill out our online contact form with your location and an estimate of pallet quantity. Photos of the pallets and the pickup area help us give you a faster, more accurate quote. We respond to all inquiries within one business day.

Include: approximate count, pallet sizes, condition, and access information.

Step 02

Site Assessment

For larger jobs (200+ pallets) or complex access situations, we conduct a free on-site assessment. Our logistics coordinator evaluates pallet quantity and condition, access points, truck positioning options, and any special requirements. For smaller jobs, photos are usually sufficient.

Site assessments are free and can usually be scheduled within 1-2 business days.

Step 03

Quote & Scheduling

Based on the assessment, we provide a clear quote explaining whether the removal is free, whether we will pay you for reusable pallets, or if there is a nominal removal fee for small or highly damaged loads. Once approved, we schedule the pickup at a time that works for your operation.

Most pickups can be scheduled within 1-3 business days of approval.

Step 04

Professional Pickup

Our crew arrives with the right vehicle and equipment — flatbed trucks for large loads, forklifts for heavy stacks, and hand trucks for tight spaces. We load all pallets safely and efficiently, taking care not to damage your property, landscaping, or adjacent inventory.

Average pickup time: 30-60 minutes for 50-200 pallets.

Step 05

On-Site Sorting

Our team sorts pallets on-site into categories: reusable (Grade A/B), repairable (Grade C), and recyclable (damaged/scrap). This sorting determines the payment you receive and ensures every pallet is directed to the appropriate processing stream — nothing goes to waste.

Sorting is included at no extra cost and takes approximately 1-2 minutes per pallet.

Step 06

Area Cleanup

After all pallets are loaded, our crew sweeps the area for loose nails, splinters, broken boards, and debris. We leave your property cleaner than we found it. For warehouse and dock areas, we use magnetic sweepers to collect stray metal fasteners.

Site cleanup is complimentary with every removal job.

Step 07

Payment & Documentation

If your pallets have buyback value, you receive payment on the spot or within 3-5 business days for larger amounts. We provide a removal receipt documenting pallet count by grade, payment amount, and the environmental diversion record for your sustainability reporting.

Payment by check on-site or direct deposit within 3-5 business days.

All Types Welcome

Types of Pallets We Remove

It does not matter what condition they are in. We accept every type, every grade, every size. If it is a pallet, we will take it.

Grade A Pallets

We Buy

Clean, structurally sound pallets with minimal wear. No broken boards, tight nails, and full structural integrity. These are immediately resalable.

$2.00-4.00/pallet

Grade B Pallets

We Buy

Pallets with some cosmetic damage but still structurally sound. May have minor staining, slight discoloration, or light surface wear.

$1.00-2.50/pallet

Grade C Pallets

Free Removal

Pallets needing repair — missing 1-3 boards, cracked stringers, or loose components. Still have significant salvage value for our repair operation.

No charge

Damaged / Broken

Free Removal

Severely damaged pallets that cannot be economically repaired. Missing multiple boards, broken stringers, or structural failure. We recycle the wood.

No charge

Mixed Loads

We Sort & Pay

Have a mix of good and bad pallets? No problem. We sort everything on-site and give you a fair price for the reusable inventory while removing the rest for free.

How Pricing Works

Our removal pricing depends on two factors: pallet quantity and condition. In most commercial scenarios, removal is either free or you earn money. Here is a breakdown of common scenarios.

Large Volume, Good Condition

100+ pallets, mostly Grade A/B

We pay you $1.50-4.00 per pallet

Medium Volume, Mixed Condition

50-100 pallets, mixed grades

Free removal + payment for reusable pallets

Small Volume, Good Condition

20-50 pallets, mostly Grade A/B

Free removal + small buyback payment

Any Volume, Poor Condition

50+ pallets, mostly damaged/scrap

Free removal, no charge to you

Small Volume, Poor Condition

Under 20 pallets, damaged

Nominal pickup fee ($50-75) may apply

Bottom line: if you have 50 or more pallets in any condition, removal is free. If the pallets are in reusable condition, we pay you. Only very small loads of completely destroyed pallets may incur a modest pickup fee.

Why Businesses Choose Us

Benefits of Our Removal Service

Free Removal (Many Cases)

In most situations, we remove your pallets at absolutely no cost. For loads of 50+ pallets, removal is almost always free regardless of condition. For reusable pallets, we actually pay you.

Earn Money

Turn your surplus pallets into cash. Grade A pallets earn $2-4 each, and even Grade B pallets have buyback value. A warehouse with 200 surplus pallets could earn $300-800 from a single pickup.

Declutter Your Space

Reclaim valuable warehouse, dock, or yard space. Stacked pallets are a fire hazard and safety risk under OSHA guidelines. We clear them out fast so your space can be used productively.

Eco-Friendly

Every pallet we remove is either reused, repaired, or recycled into mulch, bedding, or biomass fuel. Our landfill diversion rate is 99.8% — virtually nothing goes to a landfill.

Reduce Liability

Pallet stacks are fire hazards, trip hazards, and pest harbors. OSHA and local fire codes limit pallet storage in many settings. Our removal service helps you stay compliant and reduce risk.

Documentation Provided

Receive a removal receipt with pallet count, grades, payment details, and a landfill diversion certificate. Useful for sustainability reporting, insurance, and regulatory compliance.

Responsible Disposal

Environmental Compliance

Every pallet we remove is processed through our recycling facility at 4691 E Commerce Ave, Fresno, CA 93725. We maintain strict environmental compliance standards that exceed state and federal requirements.

An estimated 420 million pallets end up in US landfills annually. When you use our removal service, your pallets are guaranteed to be diverted from landfill. We provide documentation of our diversion practices for your regulatory and sustainability reporting needs.

  • 99.8% landfill diversion rate — audited quarterly
  • California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliant operations
  • San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District permitted
  • Stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) in place
  • Wood waste processed into mulch, bedding, and biomass — never burned openly
  • Metal fasteners collected and sent to certified metal recyclers
  • Contaminated materials (lead paint, chemicals) handled by licensed haulers

What Happens to Your Pallets

After removal, your pallets enter one of these processing streams — every single one is accounted for.

Volume Matters

The more pallets you have, the better the deal. For quantities of 50 or more, removal is almost always free. For reusable pallets, our per-unit pricing increases with volume. Set up a recurring removal schedule and lock in preferred rates.
